Youth Footy: Building the Next Generation of Bulldogs

Help us kick off this program!

The Denver Bulldogs have a growing group of players with kids, and we know the next step for our club is a proper youth Australian Rules Football program. We’re not there yet—but we’re working on it. Our goal is to create a safe, fun, and active way for kids in Colorado to learn footy, burn energy, and become part of the Bulldogs family from an early age.

Right now, we’re looking for the right parents, coaches, and volunteers to help us kick off a juniors program the right way.

Youth Footy

What We Want the Youth Program to Be

When our youth program launches, we want it to feel like:

  • A fun, low‑pressure environment where kids can run, kick, and play

  • A place to learn the basic skills of Australian Rules Football in a safe way

  • A family‑friendly hub, with parents on the sidelines and kids making new friends

  • A pathway for kids who want to grow into future Denver Bulldogs players

We’re aiming for age‑appropriate training sessions focused on movement, coordination, teamwork, and confidence—not just winning games.

We Need Parents and Volunteers to Help Lead

To build a proper youth program, we need more than just interest—we need people who are willing to help shape it. You don’t need to be an Aussie Rules expert to get involved.

We’re looking for:

  • Parents who are keen to help organize or coordinate junior sessions

  • Volunteers who can assist with drills, games, and keeping things fun and safe

  • Coaches (or future coaches) interested in youth development

  • Anyone passionate about creating a positive sports environment for kids

If you care about kids, sport, and community, we can help with the footy side.

What a Youth Session Could Look Like

This is the type of experience we’re working toward:

  • Short, active sessions with lots of running and simple games

  • Age‑appropriate drills focused on kicking, handballing, and catching

  • Fun, modified versions of footy with safety and enjoyment as the top priorities

  • A welcoming atmosphere where siblings, friends, and new families feel comfortable joining in

As the program grows, we’d love to offer regular clinics, kids’ days at senior games, and family events around the club.

Are You an Interested Parent or Potential Coach?

If you’re a parent who would love to see your kids play footy—or someone who wants to help build a junior sports program from the ground up—we want to hear from you.

Ways you can help:

  • Register your interest as a parent of a future youth player

  • Put your hand up to volunteer or help coach

  • Share ideas about age groups, times, and formats that would work for your family

We’re building a list of parents and volunteers who want to help kick off junior footy in Colorado. The more interest we have, the sooner we can launch.

If you’d like to be part of starting youth Australian Rules Football in Denver, fill out the form and we’ll get in touch as we build the program
