DENVER LADY BULLDOGS
EST. 2007
The Denver Lady Bulldogs are the women’s team of the Denver Bulldogs Australian Rules Football Club, and one of the most successful women’s footy teams in the United States. We combine a proud history of national championships with a welcoming culture that’s perfect for women of all experience levels who want a fast, physical, and supportive team sport.

Our Story
The Denver Lady Bulldogs formed in 2007 and, within two years, were USAFL National Champions. Coached by the infamous Bruce Durrell, the women have earned six USAFL national championships over the last decade and are looking forward to more future victories. Our strong team spirit, great leadership, and incredible athletes have made our team unbeatable in women’s footy.
Many Lady Bulldogs have a background in soccer, rugby, basketball, American football, or Gaelic (Irish) football. Experience in any of these sports will make you a natural at Australian Rules Football. New players are always invited to join us at any training throughout the season. We’ll teach you everything you need to know. Come join us for a kick or just a darn good workout.
Timeline
In 2007 four Denver ladies, Tammy Davies, Lara Porter, Anna Thexton and, and Amie Kennedy, decided that footy wasn’t just for the guys. They started learning the basics during men’s training and could always be found having a kick until it was too dark to see the ball. They played alongside the Arizona Hawks to compete in the 2007 Nationals, and they immediately had the bug. Strong recruitment meant that their first Nationals tournament as the Denver Lady Bulldogs was in 2008.
The Denver Lady Bulldogs win 6 consecutive National Titles. They held the title of the longest National winning streak in USAFL history until 2023.
The Ladies most recently played in USAFL Grand Finales at Nationals in 2021 and 2025.
A Championship Legacy
Since forming in the late 2000s, the Denver Lady Bulldogs have become a powerhouse in USAFL women’s football. The team has won multiple national championships, including an incredible run of six consecutive USAFL women’s titles, and has been recognized as one of Denver’s most successful sports teams.
Our players and coaches have represented at the highest levels of the sport, with Lady Bulldogs earning spots on USA women’s national teams such as USA Freedom and Liberty. When you pull on a Denver women’s jumper, you’re stepping into a program with serious standards, strong coaching, and a track record of competing with the best in the country.
A Team Culture Built for Women
The Lady Bulldogs combine high standards on the field with genuine support off it. Teammates push each other to work hard, but they also celebrate every small win—from your first clean mark to your first goal in a game. The women’s side has a long tradition of strong camaraderie, and players talk as much about the friendships they’ve built as the championships they’ve won.
